Make Space for God

There are times when we find ourselves endlessly consuming. We absorb worries, opinions, negativity, distractions, and the constant noise of everyday life. We become spiritually overloaded, taking in so much from the world around us that our spirit is overwhelmed and movement is hindered. We reach a point where, even if God wants to pour something new into us, there is no space left. Our hearts and minds are so crowded that we cannot receive what He is offering.

That’s when we realize it’s time to detox. The process begins by releasing the habits, thoughts, conversations, and even entertainment that have been feeding us. They do not nourish our spirit. When we allow these influences to linger, they gradually become a part of us. They seep into our hearts, shape our mindset, influence our responses, and disturb our peace. The longer these elements remain settled within us, the more difficult they become to remove.

Making space in your life for God is not about having a quiet home or an empty schedule. Instead, it involves intentionally creating space within your soul. This process means being thoughtful and discerning about what you permit to take up residence inside you.

A heart that is crowded cannot be a dwelling place for God’s peace. That is why it is important, necessary even, to pause and release those burdens that weigh you down. Letting go of these internal obstacles helps clear the clutter within your spirit.

When you intentionally make room in your heart, you prepare yourself to receive God’s presence. By releasing what no longer serves you, you invite renewal and allow God’s peace to fill the open spaces within.
