THE FIRST MIND ADVANTAGE

All my life, my mother has told me to always go with my first mind. When I was an athlete, taking a test, and just general life decisions, always go with that first mind. To this day, she still tells me the same thing, and when I don’t do it, I have to hear it again.

Now that I’m an adult and I’ve spent time getting to know God, I understand the weight of her words. That first mind idea is usually from God, because that’s the idea that tends to come without us thinking about the situation. I’ve learned that sometimes God will speak to you before your brain can get in the way. His word says your mind is hostile towards Him (Romans 8:7). So even in something that you may deem not a big deal, your mind will fight God on it.

That’s where second-guessing comes in. I am a chronic second-guesser. Then I dwell on the fact that I didn’t go with that first mind. I take that back. I beat myself up. Badly. All I had to do was go with the first thought, and we wouldn’t be in this predicament right now. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of second-guessing. And it’s caused me to miss out on things and have to go the extra mile to fix it.

Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP) says, “Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart. And do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways, know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”

God sees everything, and He knows everything. He knows the outcome of any decision you make, and He’s trying to make it easier and safer for you. I believe that when we second-guess, we doubt God and are showing Him that we don’t trust Him now. Granted, the first thought isn’t always correct, but 9/10 it usually is. Every now and then, instinct may creep in and try to steer us in a direction, but that first mind is usually God.

Go with God today, Krispy. HE DOES NOT MISS. And trust me when I say this, the alternative ain’t all that great.

I love you, and I want you FREE. Peace and Blessings.

GRACE YOURSELF

I have a major issue with time management. I’ll be on time, then I’ll just kind of lounge around or doom scroll until I have to scramble to get ready for the day. I do it almost religiously, then beat myself up with shoulda, coulda, wouldas the entire time. I know, insane. I understand that there are times when you can’t control what happens, but being in a rush almost every day can be avoided.

Sometimes when I’m running late and freaking out, my husband will tell me to give myself grace. He sees how frustrated and irritated I get, so he tries to help me calm down and move forward. God bless him for how he deals with my shenanigans lol.

Yesterday, in the midst of the scramble, I received a revelation. Giving myself time to prepare is giving myself grace. By giving myself time, I give myself peace. I can move at a normal pace instead of speed preparing (which I’m not super great at anyway, but that’s another story for another day). Giving myself time allows me to treat my body with care. It regulates my nervous system because once I’m in speed mode, my mind is all over the place.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (CSB) says, “Don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. So glorify God with your body. ”

When you allow yourself an adequate amount of time, or more than enough time, to get ready for your day, you are showing your body love and kindness, which are fruits of the Spirit. You are showing God you respect your time on this Earth, and you respect the body He made specifically for you. You show Him you love Him by loving yourself, the one He created and loves. You show Him respect by protecting your body and mind. You exhibit the wisdom He gave you when you prepare properly. You glorify God by honoring your body and your time.

If you’re like me and you wait around until the last minute to prepare for your day, start today by giving yourself grace. Whatever that looks like for you. Start preparing some things the night before. Wake up an hour before you have to leave and not an hour before you have to be at your destination (there’s a difference). Put your mind and body at ease. We’re always ripping and running and our brains are working overtime every hour of every day. This one act of kindness towards yourself can rewire your brain and regulate your body for the rest of the day, and when it becomes a habit (gotta be consistent), the rest of your life. Get ready a little earlier today. Grace yourself.

Always remember that I love you and I want you FREE IN CHRIST. Peace and blessings.

EMPTY THE CLIP

Hey hey, what is up?! HAPPY NEW YEAR! I pray it’s off to a great start. 2025 was a time for me, and I’m sure it was one for you as well. But it’s over now, and 2026 has made her entrance!

This year, do everything God has told you to do. Pray more, fast more, seek Him more. Complete every assignment. Write the book. Write the script. Write the song (a lot of writing, lol). Start the business. Start the ministry. Whatever it is He told you to do, get to it. If you’re anything like me, you’ve been putting it off for too long anyway.

Also, be obedient. Do what God told you to do how He told you to do it. THIS IS VITAL AND NOT UP FOR DEBATE.

If you’ve already started, FINISH. That’s my hang-up too. Finish and finish strong. Someone is waiting for you. Waiting for you to start. Waiting for you to complete. WAITING. FOR. YOU.

Get started. Keep going. Full force. Whichever category you fit into, GO. I’m excited for the year and excited to see what God is going to do.

EMPTY THE CLIP THIS YEAR, FOR REAL THIS TIME.

As always, remember that I want you loved and FREE IN CHRIST. Peace and blessings.
